Where To Eat if You Live On A Castlethorn Street - Kerb Restaurant Foxrock

Nov 12, 2019

On this week’s installment of the ‘Where to Eat’ blog, we took a trip to the brand-new Kerb restaurant in Foxrock, which is just a stone’s throw away from our Brighton Wood development.

Kerb describes itself as a ‘modern take on east meets west’ providing a contemporary twist on middle eastern food. We were impressed from the moment we walked in, as the restaurant itself was decorated in fresh pastel pinks & turquoise that provided a bright and calming atmosphere. A sucker for design details (we are builders after all), we were particularly taken with the lightwell towards the back of the restaurant which was decorated with pale green leaves and vintage inspired light bulbs.

The menu boasts an array of flavoured but healthy dishes, and we had to try out one of their famous ‘Kerb-babs’. The Shawarma Chicken kebab is accompanied with apple chutney, pickled red onions, charred sumac tomatoes, cucumber ribbons, mixed leaves and is drizzled in a spiced yogurt dressing. Not only was the kebab aesthetically pleasing it was bursting with flavour as well. My colleague opted to try one of the ‘Kerb-Bowls’ which is a salad bowl consisting of mixed leaves, couscous salad, feta, pickled onion and Kerb’s own Beet Hummus.

You then get to choose your own protein and sauce to accompany the dish. We went with the Buttermilk Chicken and in true kebab style, the garlic-aioli sauce. The chicken was crisp and full of flavour and accompanied by the beetroot hummus made for a satisfying and delicious dish.

We left full of compliments not only for the scrumptious food and gorgeous interiors but for the kind and attentive waiting staff as well. Kerb has brought a fresh idea and new life not only to the village of Foxrock but also to the wider Dublin food scene. In fact, we enjoyed our lunch there so much that we returned for brunch over the weekend!
